Peace

Peace is a state of mind. I always thought peace is related to people, place or passion. However, as this year is coming to an end, I began to realise that peace is nothing but state of mind.

Now, how about praying or meditating? Does that bring you peace? It does for me, but it is certainly not a complete resource of peace. It calms your mind at certain times and with consistent practice, it works.

How about physical exercise, yoga and walking? Another source, if consistence that will bring you certain feelings of rewarding your health and mind.

Let’s talk about people. A little conversation with friends or spending time with family brings happiness and joy of attachment. It gives you a sense of likeness vice versa.

Peace can be directly connected with a ‘place’. It can be a city, town or a space. It can be a longing from separating yourself from the suffocating world you live in. If you are not able to get out of it, don’t destroy your peace. Because peace comes within you.

My work has saved me millions times from the negativity around. But it is not a complete resource of peace. However, it does give me hope or enjoyment in practicing passion.

Overall, none of the tangible or intangible elements can bring you peace, if you are not happy from within. Therefore, each elements will work as a resource of peace. But the ultimate peace can be achieved by mastering the mind.

Mastering the mind is the hardest thing in the world. That is why people choose to be isolated from day to day life. But, how can we master our mind with chaos around us?

One word – Discipline.

If you’re not disciplined enough, you would never know yourself. The first step towards peace is to know yourself. If you know thyself, then you would be able to improvise on your discipline with kindness, consistency and dedication.

One small disclaimer – it won’t happen overnight. You will need to work on it day after day, month after month and years after years.

It is not only worship your discipline but also you need to pursue it over and over again. You need to be prepare for failures, bad days and days you won’t feel like. But you don’t quit. You be kind to yourself and then again you endure the path of discipline.

There will be a day that discipline will become your structure and that will become the greater resource to your peace. It can only achieved by putting your heart and soul into it. Finally, the mind. Therefore, the peace will remain.

Peace will be your state of mind.
